This performance attempts to give a flavour of how opera has been sung in Italy for generations. With it being in Italian, I will lead you through the meaning of each opera as the narrator. Expect drama on every level.

To encourage people from all walks of life, this is a low priced event. Please bring friends and family.

The performance will last maximum 2hrs 30mins (estimated end 9.45pm), including an interval for an Italian-themed soft or alcoholic drink. Children and young people are warmly welcome to attend, but if they are below 18, they must be accompanied by an adult.

The church venue is a 10 minute walk from Staines Rail, and parking is available by the church hall and around the church itself. Entrance to the church is by the river side (also there is a ramp for wheelchair access).

Frequently asked questions

Why is opera happening in Staines of all places?!

Because I live here, and wish to bring one of my musical passions to the wider community.

Can children attend?

Yes, anyone under the age of 18 can attend if accompanied by an adult.

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes, there is a ramp alongside the church

Is there parking on site?

Yes, by the church hall, or around the church itself (please park somewhere sensible, of course)

Can I video any of the performance?

Yes, you can. Singers can be a bit touchy about this, so I recommend just enjoying the night. But please note that a professional standard recording is being made during this, and if you follow me on https://www.facebook.com/JohnHollandAveryBaritone you can find out more after the event happens.
