About Travel Teacher:
Overview: Travel Teacher is a unique combination of education and adventure. We provide ethical, low-cost volunteering programmes in Fiji, The Cook Islands and The Maldives. Volunteering abroad with Travel Teacher gives you the opportunity to support the development of education in rural communities and make a genuine difference to the lives of the children in our partnered schools through teaching, coaching and mentoring.
Mission: Travel Teacher aims to offer a unique opportunity for individuals to develop both personally and professionally through a once in a lifetime Work Placement experience which will enhance future career prospects.
Objectives To offer individualised, participant led Work Placement opportunities to enhance the learning and education of young people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. To assist in the development of technical and transferable skills required to be a success in the world of work. To provide unique opportunities for exploration and adventure, promoting independence and enhancing confidence and self esteem for all.
What will the session cover?
The presentation will provide you with a detailed overview of Travel Teacher's global experiences, highlighting the importance of acquiring vital transferable skills required for the world of work. The presentation will promote discussion and also draw upon individuals' experiences of travel and contributing to the community. You will have an opportunity to make an informed choice as to whether to apply to one of our projects and embark on a journey of a lifetime during the summer of 2017, or alternative out of term time project dates!
Attending this session will count towards the Plymouth Award (1 hour in the Working Life category).
