Traveller's Tales: Frank Gardner
Mon 19 September 2016, 18:00 – 20:00 BST
Come and meet the BBC's intrepid security correspondent Frank Gardner in conversation with Condé Nast Traveller Men's Editor David Annand. Our Traveller's Tales series gives you a chance to hear behind-the-scenes-stories from some of the world's most interesting explorers and personalities in an intimate setting. This, our fourth event, will take place at the Rosewood London hotel, a beautiful landmark address in the heart of the city, known for its Scarfes Bar and Brasserie dining room. Frank Gardner has been the BBC's full-time security correspondent since 2002, reporting on conflicts and crises from Afghanistan to the Arctic. In 2004 he was shot six times by terrorists while filming in Saudi Arabia but he survived and returned to work in a wheelchair. His first memoir, Blood and Sand, was an instant success, followed by Far Horizons, which described some of his more remote travels. His debut spy thriller, Crisis, set in Colombia, was published earlier this year and became a Sunday Times bestseller.
