Come and meet the inimitable Ray Mears in conversation with Condé Nast Traveller's David Annand. Our Traveller's Tales series gives you a chance to hear behind-the-scenes-stories from some of the world's most fascinating explorers in an intimate setting. This event will take place in the elegant Clubino cocktail bar at the Baglioni Hotel London. Mears is Britain's leading authority on bushcraft, with a TV-presenting career spanning over more than 20 years. His wildlife programmes for the BBC and ITV have seen him traverse the globe, feast on witchetty grubs and honey ants, track leopards in Namibia and narrowly escape a clach with a salt-water crocodile in the Australia Outback. He's also the author of several bestselling books, and his latest, Out on the Land: Bushcraft Skills from the Northern Forest, has been 30 years in the making. It is both a love letter to and a practical guide about how to survive in the vast boreal forests of Canada, Mongolia, Iceland and Scandinavia. His new book is available to buy signed on the night.
