Travelling Treasures: ‘Writing the vision and making it plain’: Using interpretive best practice to develop a touring exhibition concept
Following on from our inspiring storytelling workshop session in February, we’ll now be working together to develop the concept for the Travelling Treasures exhibition. This collaborative project will travel around the Inspired Futures churches and beyond in due course, telling stories about our remarkable North East churches and communities.
The Travelling Treasures exhibition needs to be engaging and adaptable to work effectively for all the participating churches, and this workshop is a key step towards that goal.
It’s an exciting opportunity to get to grips with best practice principles for interpretation planning, and Jo Scott will lead you through the process, with plenty of opportunities to get your creative juices flowing. This is your chance to shape the project, share great ideas and find practical solutions to the inevitable challenges. During the day, we’ll work together to establish the project aims, target audiences, key messages and most appropriate interpretive media. As a result, you’ll have gained valuable hands-on experience in interpretive planning, and the key outcome will be an exciting collective vision for the project.
The day will be led by Jo Scott, a locally based consultant who specialises in developing and facilitating innovative heritage interpretation.
The event free of charge, including a sandwich lunch. It is offered as part of the Inspired Futures Project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
