Description

Join us to hear Geoff Browell (King's Archive) introduce some of the fascinating documents held in the archives of King's College London.

A series of short talks will take you through subjects including the foundation of the Royal Air Force, the Representation of the People Act (1918) which allowed some women to vote for the first time, women’s suffrage in and around the Strand; Edith Morley; Virginia Stephen and the People’s Suffrage Federation; Constance Maud’s No Surrender (1911; reprinted by Persephone Press in 2011)

This event is run in association with Strandlines which explores the history and communites of one of London's most famous streets, The Strand, and is part of the 2018 London History Day.
