Each Winter we plant thousands of trees in South Devon and on Dartmoor. During the Spring and Summer months we revisit previously planted sites to conduct essential woodland aftercare. You'll learn an array of new skills including tree identification, tree health, how to survey and record effectively, and join a group of like-minded people!

Help us ensure the trees, grown from seed collected in ancient semi-natural woodland by our amazing volunteers, become the future forests of Dartmoor.

Our day starts at 11am and we'll carry out surveying of our trees, replacing any broken stakes, monitoring the site, and enjoying the scenery. We'll stop for lunch, before continuing in the afternoon.

Sometimes, we may visit two sites in one day, but will get from one site to the other via our minibus.

Each week we will be visiting a different site, so please note the change in address!

Please note due to the current situation with Covid-19 whilst we will endeavour to keep all our volunteering sessions active some dates may change at short notice. We will keep you as informed as possible.

We provide cake and hot tea and coffee, as well as all of the equipment required to undertake the task in hand on the day.

Please bring with you the following: water, weather-appropriate clothing, snacks, lunch, sturdy footwear, and sun-cream.

We will be running a minibus pick-up service from Plymouth for volunteers. To book a space please call Brian Daniel on 07816 633455 before 6pm on Friday. Please note that there is limited seating on the minibus, so spaces will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Access: Up hill past Buckfast Abbey, at brow of hill turn right to Holne, follow Holne Road to the turning for Scorriton then turn left for Coombe. Very rough track for driving.
