This planting session forms part of the council’s wider woodland creation programme, funded by the White Rose Forest, which aims to contribute to long-term carbon storage, reverse biodiversity decline and provide high quality woodlands for our communities. This work also helps with nature recovery across the borough.

Please ensure you arrive a little earlier than the start time as there will be some guidance at the beginning of the session about how to plant the trees from the staff who will be delivering the session.

Please wear sturdy footwear, dress for the weather and bring your own refreshments.

Off street parking is available on a field off Clough Hall Lane, this is the meeting point - see map for details - nearest post code is HD4 6TE. What Three Words location is: ///plant.fear.hosts. There is additional parking at Castle Hill HD4 6TA (W3W: ///bring.transfers.hike) and on Castle Hill Side HD4 6TA - (W3W: ///backup.tree.trunk).

There will be a short walk to the planting site from parking area 1, slightly further (approx 10-15 mins) if parking at Castle Hill/Castle Hill side.

Tools, trees and gloves will be provided. There will also be toilet facilities on site near to the meeting point/car parking. Colne Valley Tree Society will be running this session and the contact on the day is Philip Baxter: . The Colne Valley Tree Society
