About this event

Feel the need some some relaxation? Join Kirsty & I for a forest bathing session!

Our Tree Tots session is perfect for new mums and non crawling babies who are feeling the need to relax and unwind, reconnect with nature and meet new friends.

The session includes a free homemade snack and drink and a chance to ask questions of your two hosts - Cheryl, a Birth & Postnatal Doula and Kirsty, a certified Shinrin-Yoku practitioner.

The benefits of fresh air and nature are huge both for mum and baby and include reduced stress, improved mood, better sleep, concentration and improved sensory experience. A calm and relaxed mummy equals calm and relaxed baby.

As a massive lover of all things nature, when I met Kirsty and heard she offered forest bathing sessions it just seemed like the perfect opportunity to join forces and create a group together that would bring mums and mums to be together whilst highlighting all the benefits that nature has to offer, both to mums and their babies.

Most of us are guilty of spending too much time inside and are being drawn further and further into our devices. Sometimes we need a little reminder and a gentle nudge to notice how amazing mother nature is. Getting outside, breathing in the fresh air, using all five of our wonderful senses and noticing the little things has huge benefits that unfortunately are being forgotten. We're here to help you reconnect, relax and unwind, leaving the four walls and the screens behind!

Kirsty is a certified Shinrin-Yoku practitioner and owns Do Be Do Forest Bathing.

“Shinrin-yoku is a Japanese phrase which translates as ‘Forest Bathing’. It is a modern approach that was first developed in the 1980s in Japan as a result of research by Miyazaki Yoshifumi and Dr Qing Li. The fundamentals of shinrin-yoku are to connect with nature through our senses. The practice encourages us to slow down and notice the natural world around us.

Extensive research reveals that Forest Bathing provides significant benefits for both mind and body. It is recognised as a powerful way to reduce stress, improve our wellbeing, and enable us to rediscover our relationship with the natural world that we are a part of.

Forest Bathing helps us immerse ourselves in the magic of nature, wherever we are. Nature is everywhere when our eyes are open to see, and Forest Bathing is a practice that helps us become more blissfully aware of it!”

Come and join us and all the benefits nature has to offer!
