Trees of Life - Book Launch, Talk & Supper
Event Information
About this event
Trees of Life is a lavishly illustrated series of stories about the most important trees in the world – those that humans have relied on for thousands of years for their fuel, medicines, fruit, timber and much else besides.
In the book Max shows how trees are the keystones in many of the world's most important, and vulnerable habitats. He also tells the stories of trees that have played crucial, sometimes bizarre parts in our own history – from the Breadfruit (the tree that caused the Mutiny on the Bounty) to the gutta percha (that gave us the insulating material for transatlantic cables) to the more familiar English oak.
Ticket price includes winter one-pot supper and alcoholic shrub.
Max will be available for a chat and to sign books afterwards.
