Want to make your food business stand out online in 2025?

Join us to learn how independent and ethical food traders can tap into the latest social media trends, from TikTok food storytelling and Instagram Reels, to building trust through transparent posts. We’ll share a trend report, taking a zoomed out look at the social media trends happening in the industry, before diving into how you can best to take advantage of them.

What will we do in this session?

Over 1.5 hours, you will gain:

  • A snapshot of key social media trends shaping the major platforms right now
  • Guidance on how to spot and understand your own audience’s patterns
  • Simple, actionable steps to boost your reach and engagement

Between each section, you'll be guided through key questions to think about your own online engagement strategy, have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss with peers in workshop setting.

Who will deliver this session?

This session will be led by communications expert and Better Food Traders North of England Regional Coordinator, Luke Neve & Nicola Green Social Media Producer & Manager for BFT.

Luke combines a wealth of communication expertise with a deep knowledge of sustainable agriculture and independent food scene in the North of England. As a communications professional with over a decade of experience working with architects and designers internationally—both in-house, at PR firms, and through his own marketing firm, neve agency, Luke reports on social media trends and supports clients through the design and deliver of communications stratgies. Alongside this and his role at Better Food Traders, Luke is an active member of the North of England's sustainable agriculture and independent food scene and is studying for an MSc in Sustainable Food and Natural Resources at the Centre for Alternative Technology.

Nicola trained with Digital Mums in Social Media back in 2016 and since then has worked with non-profit & charity clients, including a local Veg Box Scheme for a number of years. She is part of a peer to peer network of long established Social Media professionals which keeps her up to date with the ever-changing landscape of social media.
