Key Speakers

Andy Baddeley: A double Olympian and former world number one over the mile, Andy is an Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth finalist at 1500m. A Cambridge University graduate, he has also battled a serious heart condition, and has spoken openly about the depression he suffered as a result of a potentially career-ending injury. With the help of key members of the Performance Team, he returned to competition at elite level, and is ideally placed to help aspiring athletes to achieve their goals.

Mark Buckingham: Mark has attended two Olympic Games as Team GB’s physiotherapist as well as all the major athletics championships. He specialises in solving musculo-skeletal issues in runners, especially those issues that have been difficult to resolve for many months or years. Mark’s athlete testimonials from a host of the UK’s best athletes speak volumes, as does his 6 month waiting list for appointments at his practice.

Ryan Bowd: international age-group triathlete and multiple Ironman finisher who rode across America in 2006 with Jane Tomlinson and helped her to her successful Ironman finish in Florida. Has provided coaching to over 400 athletes at camps, corporate triathlon events, first timer days and on a prolonged 1-2-1 basis. Currently working with triathletes, adventure racers and channel swimmers.

Andy Hobdell: UK Based endurance coach responsible for Rio marathoners Kevin Seaward & Paul Pollock. He has coached 10 British & Irish Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth finals including Andy Baddeley to his 3.49 mile and number one ranking over the distance.

Expect to find representatives from our key brands such as On-Running and Newton who will be ready to talk you through the latest and greatest in running. Both brands will be providing test shoes on the night for you to try on the tredmill or outside so that you can experience the products first hand. Exclusive event only discounts (with an Eventbrite ticket) will be available on the evening so if you like what you try you can buy it at an even better price. Whilst you try out the products, chat to the brands (Expo Style) and expereince the best we have to offer you can enjoy a drink from the bar which also serves artisan food and coffee. On top of this every time you try on a pair of trainers you will receive an entry ticket into a raffle to win a pair of trainers of your choice on the evening. We will also be welcoming CompressSport down to show us the new range of products for 2017 and Performance Team who are the only service provider in the world that offers all athletes (from total beginners to accomplished age-groupers and elites) the opportunity to be treated exactly as an Olympic athlete would be treated on a pre-Olympic training camp.

From 7pm we will then be holding a selection of short key talks by our Guest speakers on everything you need to know about running with all with a Q&A at the end.
