Description

As part of #TRIBE17 International Art Festival, Chrom-Art proudly presents ‘Love in the city’ concert, an open-air evening performance by Orchestra of the City with synaesthetic projections by Lumen prize finalist David Moreton. The concert will take place on Saturday 14 October from 6.30pm to 8pm at OXO Tower Courtyard, London.

Following this year’s festival ‘Love’ theme, Orchestra of the City, London’s leading non-professional ensemble which has been increasingly recognised for its pioneering and inclusive concert series, presents a programme that incorporates three of the greatest musico-dramatic works about love, led by musical director Chris Hopkins:

Saint Saens: ‘Danse Bacchanale’ from Samson and Delilah
Tchaikovsky: Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture
Wagner: ‘Prelude’ and ‘Liebestod’ from Tristan und Isolde

David Moraton’s digital art is a faithful visual reflection of classical music. He was born with a perceptual condition called synaesthesia which triggers him seeing colours in his mind responding to sounds. He has turned this into art by projecting this very personal chromatic experience of music and sound. Moraton’s commercial work in special FX features in a long list of blockbuster movies including the Terminator and Mission Impossible sagas.

The immersive nature of this performance is designed for most people to stand and move freely around the orchestra members. Join us for this undoubtedly one-of-a-kind experience.
