Trinity Talks - Baroness Warsi
Thu 18 May 2017, 18:00 – 21:00 BST
The Enemy Within
On Thursday 18 May, the UK’s first Muslim Cabinet Minister, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, will deliver a free lecture at Leeds Trinity University about her new book, The Enemy Within: A Tale of Muslim Britain.
Lawyer, businesswoman, campaigner and former cabinet minister, Baroness Warsi will draw on her own unique position in British life – the child of Pakistani immigrants, an outsider who became an insider and the UK's first Muslim Cabinet minister – to explore questions of cultural difference, terrorism, surveillance, social justice, religious freedom, integration and the meaning of 'British values'.
Uncompromising and outspoken, Baroness Warsi’s Trinity Talk promises to be stimulating and thought-provoking, reflecting on real-life experiences, necessary trusts and possible ways forward for Muslims, politicians and the public.
It will be of interest to anyone involved with politics, social justice, cultural difference and integration - but everyone is welcome to attend.
