Description

A Life in Public Service

Dame Louise Casey DBE CB's Trinity Talk, “A Life in Public Service” will reflect on her career in public service within national government, spanning nearly 20 years.

As a British government official working in social care, she will explore her work with social policy, including homelessness, anti-social behaviour and troubled families.

At the request of the Prime Minister David Cameron in 2015, and as Director General of the Casey Review Team, Dame Louise has just finished leading a review into opportunity and integration in some of our most isolated communities. You might have seen her in the media earlier this year discussing her report, which warned that segregation and social exclusion were at “worrying levels” and fuelling inequality in some areas of Britain.

Dame Louise was appointed Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 2008 Birthday Honours and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2016 Birthday Honours for services to families and vulnerable people.

An engaging and inspiring speaker, Dame Louise’s talk will appeal to anyone interested in social policy including homelessness, poverty, protecting communities from crime and anti-social behaviour, child sexual exploitation, troubled families and social integration and exclusion – but everyone is welcome to attend.
