What are Troubleshoot sessions?

Troubleshoot sessions are:

  • 1 hour sessions, 12am - 1pm generally every other month.
  • See the full upcoming schedule at www.beaconfilms.org.uk/inclusivelens
  • Small groups of no more than 6-10 guests (plus facilitators), offered first come-first served
  • An opportunity to troubleshoot organisational challenges linked to improving inclusion for DDN talent in your crerative workforce.
  • Confidential* spaces for non-judgemental learning
  • An opportunity for organisations to continually improve how they develop inclusion within their workforces.

*The exception is if anyone shares any information which makes the session facilitators worried that you may be at risk of harm to yourself or others. Such concerns would need to be reported in line with our Safeguarding Policy which is available to view at www.beaconfilms.org.uk/policies and is in line with best practice in relation to safeguarding.

What happens in Troubleshoot sessions?

  • Broadly speaking, we follow a Collaborative Learning approach
  • People will volunteer to take it in turns to present a DDN inclusion challenge they are facing
  • Note: no one is obliged to do this.
  • You will be asked about any access requirements when you sign up.

Those who are not presenting will workshop the challenge with the person who is. This will include:

  • Tips and advice
  • Signposting to further support or useful resources
  • Open questioning

About Inclusive Lens

Inclusive Lens is a learning space for creative and cultural organizations dedicated to improving inclusion for Deaf, disabled, and/or neurodivergent (DDN) production talent. Supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, it provides a mutual and non-judgmental environment for learning about accessible and inclusive workplaces.

The programme offers monthly sessions led by DDN professionals wherever possible, including practical TOOLKIT workshops and confidential TROUBLESHOOT sessions to workshop real-life challenges. These sessions aim to help commissioners create inclusive practices, connect them with talented DDN filmmakers for paid opportunities, and promote shared learning.

Please let us know any access requirements when you sign up. BSL interpretation is available.
