The Rehearsal Room: co founded by ZOË TEMPLEMAN-YOUNG and ALICE HARDING. We offer hands-on workshops for Working actors in London.

  • The workshops are for adults over the age of 18.
  • The workshops are a safe, professional space for creatives to work. There will be no tolerance of any behaviour that doesn't fit into a healthy, open, focused, supportive way of working.

These new sessions offer a supportive atmosphere for Actors to grow in a professional, focused space, offering a unique chance to work with directors one-on-one.

PLEASE NOTE - these sessions are aimed at professional WORKING ACTORS. If you are an EMERGING ACTOR (no professional credits yet/have not been to drama school) fear not, we'll be launching our first EMERGING ACTOR sessions very soon.

INTO THE WORLD: ALICE HARDING 10:00-13:00

Find yourself in audition room struggling to figure out why the scene isn't fizzing? Gesticulating your way through Shakespeare but not really knowing what's being said? Come along to this fun and rigourous workshop where, using a variety of practitioners from Maria Knebel to Declan Donellan, director Alice Harding will help you unlock your potential in your work; utlising given circumstances, targets and études to get you out of your head and into the world of the scene.

What to bring: A scene and a scene partner, OR a monologue of your choice. Wear clothes you are comfortable to move in.

Alice trained as an actor at The BRIT School prior to directing, with credits including Casualty (BBC) The Investigator (Netflix) and The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe (ITV/Story Films.)

Directing credits include: This Blighted Star (Underbelly/The Belgrade Theatre/Omnibus Theatre,) Exit Strategy (Rehearsed Reading - Southwark Playhouse,) Fortunes of War (Apple TV) American Monster, Caught In The Net and Married To Evil (Discovery USA) Lost Frequencies (Bridge Theatre Company,) and her debut film Barton Turf, which received its world premiere at Oxford Shorts Film Festival.

Associate Director credits include: Flicker (Soho Theatre)

Alice was featured in Rolling Stone magazine for her music video for Everybody’s Saying That by Girl Ray. She was nominated for Best Early Career Director at Oxford Shorts Festival 2024.

SCENE STUDY : LUCY MORRISON 14:00-17:00

Do you often feel there is nowhere to keep your skills sharp, in between jobs and high-stakes audition rooms that leave little room for play and growth? If this resonates, this is the workshop for you. Through exercises and dramaturgical exploration, we will work on scenes in pairs to spark imagination, mine the text, and refine technique. Actors are artists who need to train regularly; through the act of doing, come let your preparation meet the moment.

What to bring: A choice of scenes will be sent to you roughly one week in advance. OR: bring a scene you would love to explore and share with others (no longer than 4 pages). Participants should prepare one scene to bring to the workshop, choosing the character they most identify with. While you are not required to learn sides by heart, prepare the text - the more you know your material, the more you'll get out of the session.
