Encouraged by our President, Harry Sealey, BRISTOL 1904 ARTS are thrilled to have the Trudgeon's Trad Jazz Troubadours play for us as part of their new Album Launch on Saturday, 23rd August!
With guests: Hunter Burgamy (New Orleans), Jonathan Greene (New York) and Lewis Taylor (Rickmansworth) - truly a Transatlantic meeting of musical minds featuring musicians from the good ole' USA and UK with the eponymous Joseph Trudgeon, leading, who himself played bass in the Chris Barber Big Band, back in the day.
After a roaring week of shows around the country in August 2024 the band decided to record an album live at the Old Duke in Bristol. With the help of roaming recording engineer and wizard, Mike West, they succeeded and this album was born.
The performance will feature much of this album for your listening pleasure! It features compositions from the 1920's from the likes of King Oliver, Jimmy Noone, Paul Dresser and more.
The band players are: Joseph Trudgeon (Double Bass), Lewis Taylor (Trumpet), Jonathan Greene (Reeds), Hunter Burgamy (Banjo), Long Tom Whittingham (Trombone), Paul Archibald (Drums) ... plus some special guests.
