Celebrated jazz vocalist Trudy Kerr brings her warm tone, inventive phrasing, and engaging stage presence to St James’s Church, Piccadilly, on Saturday, 1st November. She will perform with pianist Chris Bland and bassist Geoff Gascoyne, playing timeless standards – songs you’ll know and love – alongside highlights from her acclaimed albums.
Expect a vibrant mix of up-tempo swing, sultry ballads, vocalese, and Latin grooves. Born in Australia and now based in the UK, Trudy has released a dozen albums so far, earning praise for her lyrical storytelling and improvisational skill.
Her recordings and live performances have featured collaborations with leading artists, including Georgie Fame, Mulgrew Miller, Jamie Cullum, and Guy Barker.
Trudy has performed on stages from Ronnie Scott’s to international jazz festivals, establishing herself as one of Britain’s most respected jazz voices. She is admired for her ability to connect deeply with audiences, blending heartfelt ballads with playful, rhythmically charged interpretations.
