#trulondon The Return
Event Information
About this event
The return of #trulondon.
It took lockdowns, closed pubs and no social interaction, to really appreciate the value of getting together, and talking about the things that affect us day to day: in talent acquisition, branding, technology, sourcing, or just the issues of the day. Things that seem important, things that aren't important, things that are, or just to float a few ideas to get nods of agreement or get shot down. I didn't really apreciate what we had, till we couldn't do it anymore.
Now we can, and #trulondon is back, with a new sense of purpose. We will be following all guidelines to keep you safe. That means tracks of 6 inside, and up to 30 outside. There is a huge seated courtyard, as long as the weather is kind, and a large seated area inside. You can order drinks for the evening from the app as you need them. We are expecting the regulations to have eased by then, but have planned to todays guidelines and regs. This does mean there are only 150 tickets available, on a first come, first served basis. Book now!
The agenda will be set by the trackleaders. If you have a discussion topic, book a trackleader ticket and send us the title, and up to 50 words about what you want to discuss. We will add them to this page as they come in. You can expect a wide range of discussion. We will be hosting 36 tracks during the day, with no powerpoint. Bring your opinions and share them freely. Tracks will last 30 minutes.
For vendors, keen to show their latest updates, we will also be running "show and tell" sessions throughout the day. Since attendance is restricted to 6 (at the moment), we will also be recording the demos and sharing the sessions far and wide. To book a spot, book a "Show & Tell" ticket.
We will also be hosting live street art installations throughout the day from some of Londons top street artists, with have a go sessions to do it yourself. In the evening we have live music (remember that?), poetry and stand up from the community. If you fancy yourself to have a go at stand up, book a "stand up" ticket and attend the training the day before with our resident comedian. Give it a go.
As always, tickets are pay what you can pay. Donations are usually £50 plus, with vendors £200, but it is up to you to give what you can. We will be providing lunch and breakfast, plus coffee.
All profits from the event will go to our #trufeeds fund, which is used to support the street sleepers and recently housed. We currently fund 2 solidarity rooms in supported housing, keep the emergency supplies store stocked with clothing and supplies in the Hope Centre, Northampton, assisting with furniture and items like cookers for folks moving from supported living into independent living, running a street art and cooking club for current and previously homeless, and other initiatives. To date the #tru community have donated cash from around the world. Now we can, we want the events to make a bigger difference.
Can't wait to see you there in person,
Peace out x
Bill
