Event description

Description

The US election has revealed how fake news can spread faster and wider than the truth, so how do mainstream media deal with fairness, balance and accuracy in an era of post-factual politics?
Join us as Channel 4 News’ Jon Snow hosts a debate on one of the biggest issues facing news and current affairs to date.

The Edinburgh International TV Festival, in partnership with ITN, is exploring two of the biggest shocks to hit the media and pollsters - the Trump triumph & Brexit. Our panel of leading experts will be assessing what these historic events mean for journalism, politics, social media, and crucially, audience trust.

Join us for breakfast at Soho's Century Club on January 11th - just a week away from Trump's inauguration - to watch a round-up of the best and worst examples of mainstream and online coverage and to take part in this vital debate.

**All proceeds go to fund our two talent schemes The Network and Ones to Watch.**
