Event description

Description

The latest official figures from HM Revenue & Customs show that inheritance tax takings (IHT) has reached a record high of £4.84 billion in the 2016/17 tax year; an increase of 4 per cent compared to the 2015/16 tax year (£4.7 billion).

As property prices continue to rise, and the IHT threshold remains static at £325,000, more and more families (including your clients) are being dragged into the ‘inheritance tax net’ which is becoming ever-more complicated.

To help you gain a greater understanding of IHT and how trust and estate planning can benefit your clients, you are welcome to join us for an informative and interactive presentation from Mark King, a renowned expert in financial planning and an industry-leading trainer. Mark will be looking at how trust planning will be impacted by the following in 2017-18:

• The introduction of the Residence Nil Rate Band

• The 2006 trust changes - 10 years later

• The new tax free income allowances

• Introduction of the new HMRC online trust registration process
