Event description
What will funders embed in future plans and practice that has been learnt from responding to the VCSE needs and their beneficiaries?

About this Event

COVID-19 has been changing the funding world like nothing before. The comprehensive and continuing uncertainty of this emergency makes it unprecedented. Funders are starting to look at what this means for their plans and strategies and how they do business longer term. How will funders consider the balance between trust, accountability and risk in their longer term approach?

The discussion will explore:

  • What have funders been gathering as intelligence and information on to better inform their future plans and approach?
  • What has been the learning of positive changes and challenges?
  • How do funders join up with others to inform their ongoing approach and sustain the VCSE sector?

Eliza Buckley, Head of Research, Institute for Voluntary Action Research will share the initial findings from a funders' survey on changes to grant making practice, and Tina Costello, Chief Executive, Heart of England Community Foundation will share the learning from responding to the impact of the pandemic in the West Midlands.
