Event description

Description

We are increasingly dependent on digital and internet technologies which pervade society and questions of power, trust, and distrust of technology are more important than ever. Join the Cambridge Trust & Technology Initiative at our symposium at Churchill College, Cambridge on September 19th, from 2pm to 8pm and be part of this conversation.

We’ll be showcasing Cambridge research in this area, with high profile academics and up-and-coming researchers. We’ll have opportunities for networking, and the symposium will be followed by a drinks reception.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr Hatice Gunes (Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Science & Technology)
  • Dr Beth Singler (Junior Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence, Homerton College)
  • Dr Christopher Markou (Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, Faculty of Law)
  • Professor Jennifer Gabrys (Professor of Media, Culture and Environment, Department of Sociology)
  • Dr Catherine Rhodes (Executive Director, Centre for the Study of Existential Risk)
  • Dr Ella McPherson (Lecturer in the Sociology of New Media and Digital Technology, Department of Sociology)
  • Councillor Ian Manning (Cambridge City Council)

The Trust & Technology Initiative connects and catalyses research across disciplines, including technology, social sciences, humanities, and law, and we're excited to have you involved. To keep in touch, sign up to our newsletter and follow us on Twitter.
