Are you a new, or even a longer-standing, charity trustee and want to better understand your role and responsibilities? Maybe you’re not a trustee yet? Maybe you’re advising and supporting trustees at your charity? This training aims to help you understand what it is to be a great trustee, and help your organisation to build a brilliant, diverse and skilled Board.
This two-evening online course, run by our experienced Trustee Recruitment & Governance Officer, will answer your questions and give you opportunity to ask many more. This workshop aims to provide practical tips on how to be a trustee, how your Board works (or should work), as well as a backgrounds about charities, legal structures, finances, responsibilities, the strategic side of managing a charity, and where to go for specialised and detailed advice, if and when you need it.
These two 2hr sessions include quizzes and discussions, as well as many resources to take away, with the ability to pose more questions and get trustee support long after it finishes.
This will be a two-part session, so by booking on to this course, you must also attend the second half at the same time on the following week. You must attend both sessions of this two-part course, each two hours in duration, run using Microsoft Teams. Please be in attendance by 17:50 for a prompt 18:00 start on each date, for a 20:00 finish on both days.
