Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Training Course

Our Trust and Foundations Fundraising Training Course will equip you with the techniques and practices to increase your organisation’s income through Trusts and Foundations. From researching the Trusts and Foundations whose criteria and outcomes align with your organisation’s aims and objectives and writing a structured and compelling proposal to navigate through the reporting process.

This course will give you access to our Fundraising expert’s extensive knowledge and advice. During the course, you will receive practical support and have access to the expert’s insights that will improve your confidence as a fundraiser.

IS THIS FOR ME?

This course is designed both as a follow-up course for those Bid Writing for Charities and Community Groups Training Course attendees who would like to deepen their knowledge about Trusts and Foundations Fundraising and as a stand-alone course for people with a minimum level of experience in fundraising.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Trust and Foundations Fundraising Training Course offers a comprehensive overview of the grant funding process through Trusts and Foundations so that you will go away from the course with a clear picture of the task of Trust and Foundations Fundraising. You will: Learn what are Trusts and Foundations and what to expect from them (Types, success rates, approaches, etc.)

• Discover the methodology to create your organisation’s Trust proposal and obtain expert feedback
• Understand how to research suitable Trusts and Foundations through alternative databases.
• Learn how to create and manage a Trust and Foundations pipeline document.
• Explore how to manage your relationship with the Trust or Foundation (Reporting process, communication, etc.)
• Receive tips and advice from our fundraising expert.

Our Trust and Foundations Fundraising Training Course is delivered in two 2-hour sessions, leaving some time in between to read further course material, create your own Trust proposal and reflect on the information given.

• Session 2: Tuesday 16 September 2025, 10 am - 12 pm

Where: Our course will be delivered via Zoom - a meeting ID and password will be emailed to you before the event

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Andrew Ellison has 10+ years’ experience in the voluntary sector, principally working in fundraising, including 3 years as a sole fundraiser for a London-based homeless charity.

He has worked for charities of all sizes supporting a range of causes including mental health, medical research, youth, international development work and sports and is experienced securing a range of grants (i.e. National Lottery, Esmee Fairburn, Children in Need) to support charitable organisations to deliver their vital work.

Andrew holds a Fundraising Qualification from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CiOF). He has previously volunteered at Foundation Against Cancer, St Mungo’s, ScotsCare, Projects Abroad. He is also a career mentor at Heriot-Watt University.

Andrew is a Bid Writer at Get Grants, supporting organisations to develop their grant funding portfolio, as well as leading Get Grants Training development and delivering Fundraising for Beginners Training Course.
