Description

We would like to offer you or your fellow teachers an opportunity to take part in a creative professional development opportunity.

IF YOU ARE NOT A TEACHER CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

Truth-Dare-Art Social Practice Forum is a regional CPD event which will test how developing creative teaching skills could make a real difference to your school, its students and its staff, through the use of action-based art. We know it can be hard to justify time-out for CPD even when your school and pupils will benefit in the long run. To make it easier we are offering 10 FREE funded places to teachers who want to attend. This is not just for art teachers but for anyone who is interested in developing creative ways of teaching their subject's curriculum.

What: Truth-Dare-Art Social Practice Forum

When: Fri 12th July (Southampton) / Friday 13 July (Andover) 2019

Feedback from Truth-Dare-Art-1 (2018):

“Everything was so useful! An inspirational, change-making and transformative day”.

“The Dare actions were so inspiring!”

“It was great to play, experiment, explore.”

“Loved the structure of the day, with an opportunity to get out!”

Join with artists, gallery educators and arts organisations on this cross-disciplinary forum to inspire new approaches to;

  • Developing your students’ response-ability to personal and social themes
  • Engaging hard-to-reach pupils using creative live-art actions
  • Delivering a combined art, citizenship, diversity and ethics curriculum
  • Addressing social issues in lesson plans to develop well rounded, confident young people.

This event is hosted by CAS Artist Laurence Dube-Rushby, who is currently developing Truth-Dare-Art, and D-DARE as a methodology which is emerging through her PhD research.

Through your attendance, you will contribute to Laurence Rushby’s PhD research study into creative pedagogies (Arts University Bournemouth), which hopes to inspire an unprecedented CAS program of educational opportunities. Please note that, for the purpose of research, the event will be recorded (On the day, you will be given a consent form, with an option to opt out of photographic, film and audio recordings if you wish to do so)

We have plenty of creative ideas to share and stacks of energy, but we can’t do it without you. Come, share and expand your ideas in this cross-disciplinary forum which will test the powerful potential of a new learning experience.

This event offers to energise, inspire and create a supportive network for future actions.

This really is just the beginning!
