The Fight to Safeguard the Future of our NHS

A discussion with Professor Allyson Pollock - Director of the Institute for Health & Society, Newcastle University

South Tyneside Truth & Memory & the Save South Tyneside Hospital Campaign proudly welcomes noted academic Professor Allyson Pollock to a very special evening examining the proud History and Achievements of our NHS whilst examining the current state of affairs and what the future may hold.

Allyson Pollock is a doctor who is a consultant in public health medicine and the Director of the Institute of Health and Society, Newcastle University. She is an academic who is known for her research into, and opposition to, part privatisation of the UK National Health Service (NHS) via the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and other mechanisms.
