Try An E-Bike, Dewsbury Town Hall
Date and time
Dewsbury residents can have a free test ride on an Ebike at Dewsbury Town Hall, you just need to book your timeslot/bike.
About this event
Thanks to support from Dewsbury councillors, we are offering Dewsbury residents who can already ride a bike and are over 18 a chance to try an e-bike for free. We are working with a cycle trainer who can take up to four riders out at a time. To help make your experience as safe and secure as possible, we will ask you:
- how experienced you are at riding a bike to see what sort of test ride you can take part in
- to bring photo id with your address as proof of identity
- to wear a helmet – you can use your own or borrow one of ours
If you need any help or advice on booking a test ride or you have any questions or special requirements, please contact ebikes@epiks.org.uk or ring 07915 892 582.
- Our short test rides take just a few minutes, enough time to get a feel for the e-bike.
- Our longer test rides will take about 3/4 an hour, include riding on roads and up and down hill and be led by a cycling instructor.
To help booking a bike, a size guide is shown below. We currently have four bikes, which allows you to book the one that best fits you. If you don't see the bike for your time slot then someone must have booked it already. To book a time slot for your test ride click the "Register" button. Please make sure you book the correct size of bike for you, using the size table shown below. The different bikes (RB1 to RB4) will be noted on the tickets.
On the day we will ask to see your personal photo ID (e.g. driving licence/passport/bus pass) and documentation that shows you live at your current address (e.g. recent utility bill). After you've booked we'll also send you a permissions form. If you could complete that and bring it on the day it will speed things up. Then we'll show you how the bike works, and after you are familiar with its controls, you can go on a test ride, in a group of 4 with our instructor. Please advise the instructor if you have any health conditions that may affect your riding ability. See you at the Town Hall.
