About this event

BASC East invites members to join them for a Try Sustainable Ammunition Day at east of England shooting ground on 17 October.

The aim of the day is to help you feel informed and confident as we transition away from lead shot. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by a team member who will inspect your gun to ensure it’s suitable for steel shot.

You’ll then receive a briefing on the various cartridge options available, including different wadding systems. There will also be an update on the UK reach process, and any questions you may have will be addressed.

Afterwards, you’ll be given a selection of cartridges suited to your intended quarry or discipline, and paired with a BASC coach who will guide you through the shooting experience.

Once you’ve finished shooting, you’ll be invited back to discuss the cartridges you used and ask any further questions.

Sessions should take no longer than one hour.

This event is £25 for BASC members, the event is subsidised as a member benefit. If you are not a member of BASC and would like to attend, please Join – BASC.

BASC membership is £98 per year providing all the benefits of BASC membership and access to our events and courses.

Please note that attendees must be 15 years of age or older.

Please make sure to bring your shotgun, certificate, and eye and hearing protection with you on the day. Guns must be nitro proof, have chambers of 65mm or longer, be choked half or less, and be either 12 or 20 bore.
