TST Appropriate Diagnostics Event: "To test or not to test...?"
Thu 25 May 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 BST
THIS EVENT IS TARGETED AT CLINICIANS WORKING IN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CARE THAT REQUEST DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
Following on from the success of the TST Diagnostics Launch Event in September 2016, we would like to cordially invite you to the next TST Appropriate Diagnostics Event: "To test or not to test...?" to be held on Thursday 25th May at 18:30 – 20.30 at the Best Western Plus Epping Forest Hotel, 30 Oak Hill, Woodford Green, IG8 9NY.
Over the next five years, we believe that - by working together - we could save millions of pounds of waste on unnecessary testing and, most importantly, do the right thing for our patients by reducing the negative impact of over-diagnosis.
The evening will include our proposed diagnostic changes for 2017/18 and once again, ascertaining your views on these proposals will be crucial. There will also be a brief presentation on the role of tQuest; a fundamental enabler for diagnostic changes. Finally, the evening will be centered on an open debate, concerning an issue faced by all clinicians: "To test or not to test…? This House believes that we are over testing patients." This debate brings to the fore, the key concept of over-diagnosis and over-treatment which underpins this programme. We heartily encourage attendees to express their views and debate: challenging one another and our expert panel which will be chaired by Professor Finbarr Cotter (Clinical Director for Pathology & Consultant Haemato-Oncologist, Bart's Health). If you would like to be considered as an expert panel member, please contact the TST Programme Manager (details below).
CPD certificates will be awarded to attendees – please reserve your free place as soon as possible by clicking REGISTER (above). We believe that this event will be both provocative and fun! We really look forward to your input and discussion.
If you have any questions/ comments about the programme or would like to be considered as an expert panel member, please contact Babar Shafiq, our TST Programme Manager (email@example.com).
