About this event

What is the Writer’s Circle?

The Writer’s Circle is a place for local women to nurture the writer within themselves. It is an opportunity to explore, develop and connect in the inspirational surroundings of the River Arts Club.

Who is facilitating the Writer’s Circle?

Susanna Wright is a local writer and award winning film-maker. She has contributed to books and film scripts and her updated version of John Baillie’s classic A Diary of Private Prayer published by Simon & Schuster, New York, has sold 100,000 copies. She is currently finishing her first feature film script.

FAQ's

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Pen, paper, laptop

Q: Is there a reading list?

A: No, but there will be suggested reading.

Q: Do I have to attend every week?

A: Ideally yes, but they are fairly self contained so it is not essential. You should plan to attend at least 4/6 of the sessions to honour the process and the other participants. The more you put in, the more you will get out of it.

Q: Do I need to have written anything?

A: No. All you need is a willingness and openness to the process. There may be varied experience levels round the table, that’s okay. The aim of the circle is to encourage you and inspire you wherever you are on your writing journey.

Q: What kind of writing is this for?

A: The Writer’s Circle is for anyone who wishes to write anything whether that be a speech, a book, a film, a poem or a song, or something else.
