About this event

Hobbies • Other

Tuesdays are our dedicated beginners’ evenings, a space for those curious about Shibari and eager to learn the fundamentals in a friendly, supportive, and safe environment. Our studio is proudly LGBTQIA+ and FLINTA-friendly, and we are committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming space for all bodies and identities.

Each session begins with a guided introduction to basic ties to give you practical skills you can take away and build on. On the evening we will cover:

Single column ties (three variations)

Double column ties

Lark’s head knots

• A selection of single rope ties to get you started

This is not a full workshop, but rather a taster class and induction session, designed to introduce the essential building blocks of rope in a safe and accessible way.

What to Expect

• You’re welcome to join on your own, many people do. We provide space for pairing up, working in groups, or self-tying. Observing is also completely welcome.

• Each week follows the same introductory structure but with space for variation depending on teachers and the group’s vibe. You’ll learn something new each time, even if you’ve joined before.

• We provide communal rope for the class, and rope is also available for purchase if you’d like your own set.

• After the class, the evening flows into a relaxed open jam and social time, where you can practice what you’ve learned, tie with others, or simply watch and connect with the community.

Practical Info

Schedule:

• Doors open: 6:45pm

Important Notes

• All activities in the studio are guided by our Code of Conduct, which prioritises consent, respect, and inclusion.

If you’re new to rope, this is the perfect way to dip your toes in and begin your journey, whether you’re tying, being tied, or simply curious to learn more.
