Event description

Description

We are proud to announce the launch of our first ever international conference (Tulsicon2018). This unique event which is going to be held at the London Wetland Centre on Friday the 14th of September. The aim of the one day event is to explore the impact health has on conservation in particular One Health. The conference sponsored by Lush (UK) and is supported by Tytek and Simplyhealth. It promises to be a unique event at a unique venue.

We will be covering a wide range of topics around the theme of One Health. In addition to our high profile speakers we are also keen for our participants to explore our unique venue. We will also have Judith Mackay, a well known wildlife artist exhibiting some of her amazing work. We strongly believe that before we can look after the survival of other species we must also focus on our own health, so we are teaming up with Boundaries for Life an initiative that offers free health checks at cricket matches to provide our participants to have a free health check for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, obesity and even a dental check. We will also be running a free basic life support workshop. Researchers are encouraged to submit their abstracts for our best abstract completion for which the winner will be awarded a cash prize. All abstracts should be submitted to ctrivedy@gmail.com by the deadline of 14/8/2018

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

By Car

There is ample parking on site

By bus

Buses 33, 72 and 209 stop nearby (alight at the Red Lion stop, approximately 100 metres walk from the wetland centre). If you get the 72 back to Hammersmith tube ensure the bus is going to East Acton. The 485 bus from Hammersmith comes directly into the Centre but only twice an hour and not at all on Sundays or Bank Holidays.

By rail

Barnes rail station is just 25 minutes from Waterloo or 10 minutes from Clapham Junction. It is then a 15 minute walk to the wetland centre (or 5 minutes by buses 72 or 33). You can also alight at Barnes Bridge station then walk through Barnes village (about a 15 minute walk) or catch a 209 bus (alight at the bus stop opposite the Red Lion pub, which is approximately 150 metres from the Centre).

By tube

Hammersmith tube (on the Piccadilly and District & Circle Lines) is the nearest tube station. From here it is just a 10 minute bus ride (see ‘by bus’).
