Join the CHIMERA team at this multidisciplinary workshop to collaborate with other UCL researchers on a modelling challenge.

This collaborative event comes ahead of a series of clinically-led, multidisciplinary workshops, including ones delivered in a partnership between UCL's CHIMERA hub and the Alan Turing Institute, that will be themed around specific opportunities to improve care. The purpose this event to offer a new opportunity for multidisciplinary collaborations between UCL researchers, particularly those in mathematics, computer science, data science and those with an interest in data modelling. This event is only open to UCL affiliated research professionals.

Participants will use data and a specific problem provided by the CHIMERA team to look for insights - and future collaboration - from other modellers and/or data scientists on how to resolve a specific and important modelling challenge. The specific problem for this event will examine how to improve the equilibrium process between the gas in alveolar compartments and corresponding capillary compartments in a currently-used multi-compartmental computational simulator of the respiratory system. Improved simulation of this transport process will greatly help in the understanding and treatment of various respiratory diseases. Relevant data and code will be made available and we hope that this workshop will lead to a new publication and/or new collaborations that interface with the CHIMERA hub.
