TURN AROUND: Find Your Feet, Face Forward

Resilience, confidence, and clarity for artists finding their way.

Feeling unsure about how to talk about your work, where you fit, or how to represent yourself with confidence? This session is for artists who want to build resilience by rooting their practice in their personal story and surroundings.

Through group discussion, creative writing prompts, and live peer feedback, we’ll explore how to articulate your purpose and position yourself clearly when applying for opportunities.

What’s included:

  • Interactive workshop exploring how your background, locality, and lived experience shape your practice
  • A practical model for turning ideas into confident proposals
  • Articulation Lab: writing and speaking exercises with facilitated peer feedback

Who it’s for:Artists at any stage who feel unsure about how to talk about their work, where they fit, and how to represent themselves with clarity and confidence.

Follow-up offer:After the session, participants will have the option to book a 15-minute 1-to-1 with Short Supply for portfolio/social media review or support with articulating their work.

Who is Short Supply: Short Supply is a Manchester-based arts organisation championing emerging and mid-career artists across the North West and beyond — creating exhibitions, workshops, and mentoring opportunities that break down barriers to visibility, employment, and education in the arts.
