TURN AROUND: Start to Finish – Applying Without Burning Out

Building emotional and strategic resilience in applying for opportunities.

Applying for opportunities can be exhausting. This session is for artists who feel overwhelmed by the pressure, stuck in cycles of rejection, or unclear on how to approach applications with intention.

We’ll share strategies for building emotional resilience, applying with clarity, and marketing yourself without losing sight of your values.

What’s included:

  • Opening talk from Short Supply on reframing rejection and building resilience
  • Workshop on applying with intention and strategic self-marketing
  • Guest Q&A with a local artist or curator

Who it’s for: Artists who feel burnt out by the application process and want to build confidence, clarity, and visibility.

Follow-up offer: Participants can opt into an online artist takeover on The Turnpike or Short Supply’s social media to showcase their work and build visibility.Optional 1-to-1 portfolio/social media reviews will also be available to book after the session.

Who is Short Supply: Short Supply is a Manchester-based arts organisation championing emerging and mid-career artists across the North West and beyond — creating exhibitions, workshops, and mentoring opportunities that break down barriers to visibility, employment, and education in the arts.
