About this event
Turner Syndrome Support Society [UK] Conference 11-13th October 2024
The TSSS is delighted to welcome members to our annual conference and AGM over the weekend of 11-13th October 2024. We are pleased to be back for a second year at this venue and we hope you like it. There will be some changes from previous conferences, but we have worked hard to ensure all our favourite things can still take place. Don’t forget to check your membership is up to date, as only fully paid-up members can attend.
Yarnfield Conference Centre, Yarnfield Park, Stone, Staffordshire, ST15 0NL, Tel +44(0) 1785 762605 Details can be found at their website: https://www.yarnfieldpark.com/ There is a great video and an extensive photo gallery that will help you get to know the venue.
We are looking forward to seeing you all again. The following information will hopefully answer all the questions you may have about the conference and the venue. If not, please call Arlene or Carlene on 0141-952-8006 or e-mail at turner.syndrome@tss.org.uk and they will be happy to help.
Yarnfield has good transport links, it is just off the motorway, an hour from Manchester, and East Midlands Airport. The local train station is Stone, but Stafford and Stoke on Trent are large stations not too far away. We will have details on how to book and share taxis from train stations nearer the time.
Updates will be posted on the website https://tss.org.uk/about/conference as and when they become available. "TSSS UK Conference 2024" Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1393562548186640 where we will post information, programme, photos and answer any questions you may have.
Yarnfield Conference Centre has plenty of open space outside and almost all conference rooms have natural daylight and windows that can be opened for additional ventilation. The staff are friendly and helpful. Children are made to feel welcome and there is a lot of space for them to run around in.
Please note that Yarnfield is a cashless centre and only card payments are accepted. The accommodation is in four blocks just outside the conference centre, a short walk away under a well-lit covered path. The rooms available are double ensuite, and some can be made twin beds (limited availability). A cot or folding bed can be provided (limited availability) for children. Depending on the age of the children and family size, it may have to be a parent and child in one room and a parent and child next door. Please note the rooms are small for a family of 4. Depending on whatever suits your family best. We intend to have family corridors, so families are together. Teen corridors so that teens can be next door to each other. Likewise for the Ladies with TS. We have plenty of rooms available to us. Please note it is not a hotel, it is a conference centre so there are some differences such as there is no swimming pool, the bar hours are set, and no food is available once the restaurant is closed. There are vending machines and snacks are available at the bar. Tea & coffee is provided but, biscuits are not provided in the rooms. Hairdryers are available from reception if there is not one in your room.
