Turning Evidence into Action: Funding the West Midlands VCSE under the Civil Society Covenant
Tuesday 25 November, 10.00am – 12.30pm | Rathbones, Birmingham (with limited online participation)
The UK Government’s new Civil Society Covenant sets out a framework for resetting relationships between government and civil society, recognising the sector as a trusted and independent partner. But what does this mean in practice for funders, infrastructure bodies, and VCSE organisations in the West Midlands?
This workshop, hosted by WMFN and kindly supported by Rathbones, will help funders and sector leaders interpret the Covenant alongside the latest data from NTU/NCVO’s VCSE Observatory and 360 Giving. Together, we will consider what the evidence tells us about resilience, funding flows, and workforce wellbeing — and how this can shape future practice.
By taking part, you will:
- Understand the policy intent and opportunities of the Civil Society Covenant
- Gain insight into sector trends and funding data
- Explore the implications for funding, commissioning, and support in the West Midlands
- Contribute to identifying practical regional actions to align policy, funding, and evidence
Join us to turn evidence into action and help shape how the Civil Society Covenant is applied across our region.
