TV COMEDY CRASH COURSE - LONDON
Thu 20 April 2017, 10:00 – 17:00 BST
Graham and Mark from Grand Scheme Media present a distilled version of their highly praised session on how to develop and pitch TV comedy ideas that will get the best out of your talent and ambition.
This one day workshop covers Understanding Comedy Commissioning, Devising Ideas That Sell, Pitching Your Project, Characters & Stories That Work, and The Basics (Outlines, Layout and Length).
Each delegate receives a handout with key commissioning and development contacts.
We'll be concentrating on Situation Comedy and Comedy Drama but can also advise you on Sketch Comedy, Panel Shows and Comedy Entertainment. We always try to tailor our sessions to the needs of the delegates.
Between them Mark Robson and Graham Smith have developed, produced or commissioned dozens of successful Comedy television projects, most recently MR. SLOANE for Sky Atlantic and AS YET UNTITLED for Dave.
They organise extremely successful training events on behalf of the National Film & Television School, Guardian Masterclass, Creative Skillset and the Indie Training Fund.
Sessions include: TV Comedy Script Editing, Team Writing Workshop, the Belfast Media Festival Comedy Writer Event and a nationwide tour of Creating Comedy For The Screen.
This is a rare chance to get the inside knowledge on the Comedy business, from top to toe, in one day.
Here are a few quotes from previous delegates:
"I wish it could have lasted a week"
"Extremely valuable and enjoyable"
"Great fun, thank you"
"The knowledge and enthusiasm of the course leaders was infectious. Great"
"Make it longer!"
"The industry insights weren't the same speeches that you hear every time you attend a scriptwriting panel or festival; they were truthful and also aware of the realities writers have to face"
"Wonderful. Give it a huge recommendation"
Cancellations must be in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org and must be received at least three days prior to the course date or the full fee will be charged. GRAND SCHEME MEDIA reserves the right to cancel courses without liability, and delegates will be offered an alternative date or full refund. The company reserves the right to cancel courses if there are insufficient enrolments.
