Who should attend: Research active academic staff at Aston University. Please ensure you register using your Aston University email only.
Twitter has great value for academics as a professional social network and news service. In this practical, hands-on session, you will learn how to use Twitter to share your research, connect with your peers and build your brand.

- How Twitter has become a mass market medium
- Essentials in the Twitter profile, Twitter lexicon and etiquette
- Using hashtags, shortened URLs and images or videos
Twitter in the wider digital environment
- How Twitter fits into your professional profile
- How to build a relevant audience
- How to engage your followers
- Twitter’s role in content marketing – how and where you can use Twitter
- Twitter as a research tool: Interests and ads data and downloading content for analysis

The workshop will be delivered by Dr Annmarie Hanlon, digital and social media marketing teacher at Cranfield School of Management. Annmarie specialises in the development of digital marketing strategies, with expertise in strategic digital marketing and business management of social media.
