Act I - Popular Classics and Comedy
Tyler presents a selection of all-time favourite piano music, laced with musical anecdotes and tongue-in-cheek humour.
Act II - Forgotten Masterpieces
Tyler showcases two rarely heard masters of the Romantic era with works that stretch virtuosity to its limits.
Tyler Hay is an artist of rare talent, a true ‘pianist of the people’ - equally an extraordinary, international competition-winning virtuoso and a highly charismatic entertainer (and quite handy on a billiards table!). For one night only, in the spectacular setting of the National Liberal Club in Central London, Kettner Concerts presents Tyler in a novel performance format.
In ‘Act I’, he offers a selection of the most beloved classical piano works - with original, humorous introductions to each piece. Expect nostalgia-inducing poetic musical beauty, alternating with laugh-out-loud comedy!
'Act II' offers an exhilarating tour-de-force of virtuoso piano playing as Tyler champions two 19th century composers whose music is criminally underperformed (in Tyler’s opinion - you’ll have to decide for yourself when you hear it!).
