Tyne Rivers Trust and Migratory Salmon - Lunch and Learn Webinar
Overview
Come and join us for our February Winter Webinar as part of our Lunch and Learn series of events, hosted by the North East Rewilding Network.
We are delighted to welcome Jack Bloomer, Chief Scientist and Technical Director of Tyne Rivers Trust who will be speaking about the current projects of the Trust including helping to restore rivers for migratory Salmon.
About the Speaker
Jack lives and works on the Tyne in Northeast England, a waterway known as much for its industrial heritage as the fact it is the ‘best salmon river in England’. Here he works as Chief Scientist and Technical Director of Tyne Rivers Trust where he develops and delivers projects to improve the biodiversity of the catchment. This involves carrying out research to understand the major challenges the river faces and how to address them, generating investment to tackle these issues and leading a talented team that deliver projects to safeguard the future of the iconic species of our region. Jack completed his PhD on the environmental stressors experienced by salmon during incubation and continues to carry out research across the world. He also represents the national Rivers Trust on the Technical Steering Group of the Missing Salmon Alliance and the accredited NGOs on the Scientific Advisory Group at North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organisation (NASCO).
