Type Faces: Free Children's Workshop

Participants will learn the basics of relief printing and enjoy an accessible introduction to the history of print before being let loose with our fantastic collection of wood type, turning typefaces into fun, friendly or fearsome type faces. This is a hands-on activity, and all children will go home with a small selection of prints of their own design.

No previous experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided. Please arrive five minutes before the scheduled start time. This workshop is free though donations are appreciated to support the Centre.

Our studio is in a former schoolhouse, nestled in the tranquil garden of St Anthony's Hall and overlooked by the city walls. Enter through the double or single gate to the gardens and follow the path to our green front door.

York railway station is within a 20-minute walk and the Peasholme Green bus stops are located just outside. Q-Park Shambles is across the road.
