UBREW Beginner Brewing Course
Fri 10 February 2017, 18:30 – 22:00 GMT
Have you ever wanted to brew your own beer?
YES. Well this special course for brewing novices gives you your first taste of the action. Better still, it's close enough to Valentines Day to either meet someone new or bring your own partner.
You’ll be learning the extract method of brewing - this means that you’ll learn all the basic steps to brewing up a great beer but skipping the tricky mash technique.
However, this Friday night always ends up with a great fun and entertaining session with plenty of opportunities to sample the beers along the way.
Who is this course aimed at?
Absolute beginners as the name suggests but someone who is interested in the brewing process and wants to know a little bit more about how their favourite beers are produced. You may have previously brewed in a bag many moons ago but now want to learn the real way.
You’ll be paired up alongside upto 12 attendees watching and learning from our brew instructor, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and to have a mini-tour of the brewery.
The course is perfect for those who want to meet a fellow craft beer lover or do something a little bit different on Valentines Day.
All we're asking is that those single and ready to mingle where something red on the night.
What happens on the evening?
You and your friends will be put into brewteams of up to twelve people, and be shown the various steps to brewing on a top of the range brew kit. You’ll also be welcomed on arrival, and given either a special hop guide or brewery tour as part of your evening’s entertainment.
We’ll have the ingredients and recipe ready for you, and our staff will be on hand to take you through all the key steps to help you brew a fantastic beer - the only thing you will need to agree on is the name.
What if I don’t have a group of 12 people to brew with?
No problem! We firmly believe that brewing beer is like drinking it - best done amongst friends.
If you want to come along on your own then we’ll happily pair you with new friends for the evening. The Friday evening sessions do end up quite lively so we’re pretty sure you’ll have a blast and meet some like-minded beer lovers.
What do I get at the end of the course?
When the beer has fermented and been bottled, you’ll be coming back in two weeks time to collect a share of the spoils that you brewed. You’ll also get a special beery certificate to prove to your partner or spouse that you’ve not just been drinking all evening.
