This event is aimed at two groups of people:
Early Career GIS experts, or people thinking about GIS as a career
Are you a current or recent MSc Geographical Information Science (GIS) graduate? Have you graduated from or are you studying on a similar degree? Do you have GIS skills and want to know more about potential careers? Are you an undergraduate who would like to hear more about an inter-disciplinary career that combines computer science skills with the ability to understand, model and analyse the world and solve real-world problems ranging from traffic congestion and ambulance routing to modelling pollution and disease spread, and on to understanding what causes flooding and predicting population growth? Are you interested in working in fields as diverse as oil and gas, property, transport, retail, healthcare, planning, the environment, civil engineering, local and central government and many others? Are you on UCL's Integrated Engineering Programme and thinking about your options for Minors?
Experienced GIS Professionals
Or are you a more experienced member of the GIS profession, willing to help new entrants? Would you like to give a short talk about how you use GIS, along with some career advice? Would you be willing to conduct mock interviews and/or review CVs? Would you like to be involved in GIS networking activities or have a table at the event? Are you currently recruiting GIS staff?
If any of these apply, then you'll want to attend our GIS careers event! We're planning a CV clinic, mock interviews, the chance to talk with recent and more senior graduates about career opportunities. You will also find out more about GIS and the fantastic, diverse career opportunities that could await you.
The event is free, so sign up here, and please don't forget to tell us more about you.
** NB: The event is not restricted to UCL students - this is an AGI event, and is open to anyone interested in a GIS career **
** The event will be based in the main Marquee, University College London, Gower Street WC1E 6BT (you will see the marquee when you enter the main gate into UCL) and in Room G04, Chadwick Building, (the Chadwick Building is the one on your right as you enter the main gates into UCL).
