UCL Italian Department is very pleased to announce a new series of training workshops for teachers of Italian.
Sibylle Nalezinski: Cultivating in the jungle. Harnessing technology for language teaching and learning.
Technology for teaching and learning can be a great resource but it can easily become overwhelming. With this in mind, participants at this hands-on workshop will experience selected tools and technologies, then look ‘behind the scenes’ and create some material themselves. The focus will be on memorising vocabulary and speaking practice.
Sibylle Nalezinski is a Learning Technologist at the UCL Centre for Languages and International Education (CLIE). She has been supporting Language teachers for 16 years, initially at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) in Munich, Germany before moving to the UK in 2006. In 2014 she became a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT). ALT is a professional body that strives to improve practice in teaching with technology, among other aims. Very much a practitioner, Sibylle often ‘tests’ a tool or method in her own language learning for an initial first hand impression of its efficacy.
Please note that the workshop is free of charge but places are limited and booking is essential.
