UCLPartners Involvement Leads Network meeting
Event Information
Description
This is the first meeting of 2018 of our Involvement Leads Network. We will be speaking about the new General Data Protection Regulation, which replaces the Data Protection Act. According to the website (https://www.eugdpr.org), the enforcement date is 25 May 2018, "at which time those organizations in non-compliance will face heavy fines". Eeeek! What does this mean for us working in patient and public involvement in health, services, and education? What does it mean for patients, who are constantly contributing this data which needs protecting?! Let's discuss.
Agenda:
9:15 Coffee and registration
9:30 Welcome and introductions
9:45 Becoming compliant for the General Data Protection Regulation (Ayath Ullah, patient and public involvement representative, CEO ConsultGov)
10:15 Update on the national data opt-out programme (Rachel Merrett, Head of Stakeholder Engagement, Information & Transparency Group, Operations & Information Directorate, NHS England and Simon Denegri, INVOLVE)
