The UFO is a subject which provokes arouses strong reactions. Many people reject the topic completely and refuse to take it seriously even though this phenomenon has occurred throughout human history. In 2017 The New York Times article on UFOs conferred a seriousness and credibility on the topic that it previously may not have had. UFOs or UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) are witnessed by many people including trained observers such as military pilots but many reject them as being natural phenomena, human technology, illusions, hoaxes, and psychological factors for UFO sightings.
Join podcaster Andy McGrillen of the very popular That UFO Podcast and author of Atlas of Unidentified Flying Objects: and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena and author Graeme Rendall who has written a series of books dealing with aerial UFO encounters between 1946 and 1956 who will both be talking about UFO incidents. Regardless of whether you are a believer or a sceptic this will be a fascinating exploration of a topic that refuses to go away.
Graeme has been interested in UFOs for around 50 years. He began writing books on the subject in 2021 and released “UFOs Before Roswell”, a critically acclaimed work on the Foo Fighter phenomenon of World War II. As he has also been an aviation enthusiast from an early age, he began work on a series of books dealing with pilot and aircrew encounters with UFOs from the late 1940s and throughout the 1950s. He also has a YouTube channel (“Bitesized UFOs”), which examines little known UFO cases from around the world. To date he has hosted over 100 episodes. Graeme is not simply an author: he is also a researcher who has delved into documents held by the National Archives in London and the Historic Records Agency at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, both of which have been the source of information on hitherto unknown sightings.
Graeme lives in County Durham, drives diesel trains – both standard gauge and narrow gauge – for a hobby, and also works at the North East of England’s largest open-air museum, where he takes visitors on underground coal mine tours. He occasionally finds time to write UFO books!
