Event description
The 15th UHVnet Colloquium will be hosted by Cardiff University on the 23rd afternoon and 24th May 2022.

About this event

This years topic is:

Advances in insulation technologies and high voltage phenomena

We invite one-page contributions from established academics, engineers, early career researchers and particularly postgraduate research students, for whom this colloquium is a platform to share research achievements with the UK’s high voltage engineering community.

The organisers welcome a single page article submission from the broad range of high voltage research topics under a theme of ‘Advances in insulation technologies and high voltage phenomena’. The event will include both oral presentations to report on recent findings and posters sessions to encourage discussion and networking.

Areas for interest for the event encompass research findings related to high voltage topics, including:

  • Insulating materials advances and characterization: gas liquids and solid materials
  • Insulation structures and systems
  • Partial discharge detection and classification
  • Sensors and condition monitoring
  • Overhead lines, cables and transformers
  • HVDC partial discharge phenomena and equipment
  • High voltage in other sectors
  • Emerging new topics

A full paper is not required for this event, but the one-page article needs to summarize the work clearly.

Received articles will be included in sessions as an A1 poster or a 15-minute oral presentation. Various prizes will be awarded to the best poster/oral presentation, which will be judged by a review panel at the colloquium.

The accepted articles will be grouped in a colloquium booklet and will be made available to attendees.

The pdf versions of the slides and posters will be published on the website with authors’ authorizations.
